Walking And Talking About Eating (WATE)
I-WATE Website Debut Continued ...............
I-WATE and the I-WATE website were developed specifically for underserved neighborhoods in Tallahassee and surrounding areas where diet-related health problems, such as obesity and diabetes are elevated; especially target area neighborhoods (TANs) in the following zip codes: 32301, 32310, and 32304. A log-in app on The “Come On In” homepage will be used for the purpose of tracking and targeting services to TANs and specific lifecycle groups. The site will be updated continuously to: (a) provide onsite and distanced access to new and expanded WATE materials; (b) augment the appeal and effectiveness of marketing messages; (c) document WATE activities and accomplishments; and (d) achieve broader community outreach. The website encapsulates the programming of WATE, providing a compendium of:
-
Filmed cooking demonstrations, recipes, and walking DVDs as sub-pages of the” Healthy Happenings” homepage;
-
Nutrition lessons as sub-pages of the “Lessons” page
-
Information needed to follow the DASH diet, WATE social marketing materials, and participant testimonials as sub-pages of “About Us”
-
DASH diet chant contests, Junk Food Slams Contests, and Participant Stars subpages of the “Contests” page.
