Walking And Talking About Eating (WATE)
WATE is a family intervention to enhance health by following the DASH diet plan and walking regularly. Adults and their children assemble monthly at BCHC, 1720 Gadsden Street, for an exciting nutrition education program that begins with demonstrating, promoting, and taste-testing healthy recipes. Afterwards participants walk indoors to filmed routines that incorporate music and chants to market the DASH diet plan.
Homework packets are mailed-out during the month to reinforce face-to-face lessons.
Classes are held the 1st Saturday of each month. Classes begin promptly at 10:30 and end at 12:00 Noon
WATE is funded by Tallahassee COPE&BCHC
